To the readers of this web site I wish to introduce (or re-introduce) to you to one of the best qualified battlefield guides in the world – Graeme Cooper.
I’ve worked with “Coops” on the battle sites of the Western Front the Beaches of Normandy and his speciality Waterloo. I’ve also walked the battlefields of the South African Zulu and Boer Wars on a “busman’s picnic tour” back in 2010 when we as members of the Guild of Battlefield Guides went to study those battles of 1879-80 and 1899-1902.
“Coops” is a great fountain of knowledge and the best of story tellers, you can see what he describes before you look at the topography of the battle scene. Sadly “Coops” will be escorting his last tour in 2018. This will be my great friends last field trip, as we are all putting on the years.
If you want an exceptional guided Battlefield experience this is one you just can’t pass up ! For further information in Australia – New Zealand or Oceania please make contact with me (Dennis J Weatherall) at Battlefields of the World, by phone (+62 2) 9520 6023 or by email at: email@example.com

On the 12th September this year- 2017, it is the 72nd Anniversary of the Liberation of Singapore from the Japanese occupation that was between the 15th February 1942 to the day the Japanese Commander forcibly surrendered to the British – 12th September 1945.
There are many Australian servicemen still alive today from the terrible day the 15th February 1942 when they were forced to lay down their arms by the British General commanding “Fortress Singapore”. This visit is open to all ex servicemen and women along with their families, children and grandchildren.
This visit will operate between Saturday 9th and Friday 15th September – Battlefields of the World “Liberation” tour covering all the sites where action took place in those WWII days long ago.
The full itinerary will be posted in the next few weeks along with the land only cost, this will allow intending travellers to extend their stay if they wish, or travel pre the tour dates. We’ll also offer an extension to Thailand to enable a visit to the Thai – Burma Railway where many of the military prisoners from Singapore were taken to be forced labor on the Japanese railway, others were sent to North Borneo to build an airstrip. Out of more than 2,400 POW’s sent to Sandakan in North Borneo, only 6 survived to see the Japanese brought to justice.
Battlefields of the World is proud to announce that our 2016 Programme for the 50th commemoration of the Battle Of Long Tan. We have been incredibly lucky to have Peter ask to lead two great departures to Gallipoli in 2015 – the year, 100 years on from when the ANZAC Forces landed in the Dardanelles during World War I.
11 days, Australia to Australia, we spend a brief time in Istanbul before heading down to the Dardanelles for an in-depth look at the battlefields of the Gallipoli Campaign. From Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair, where the Australian and New Zealand Forces were stationed. To Kabatepe, and the Turkish positions, to the French area of operation in Cape Hellas to Sulva Bay in the North where the British Landed.
We have 2 fantastic departures, one in July and one in October, for more information, read on ..
